A gene-environment interaction occurs when the effect of an environmental exposure on health and behavior is conditional upon a person's genotype (or conversely, when environmental exposure moderates genes' effects on health and behavior). We've listed empirical papers and theoretical papers. We've also provided links to public-engagement activities and media coverage that may be useful for teachers and students. In teaching, we have found that it is of interest to compare original research reports and their media coverage. This can be an interesting class exercise.
